[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:

'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
3 K- y- a. f  F' F : j4 E1 s& ^, o( y) Q
Push off, and sitting well in order smite3 a" \' E! E: r

( M  ~$ J# h! A* q3 x* }The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
3 J( q. a2 @6 G- {$ Z
3 p1 W' ~, [( B: b5 Y' Z- HTo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
2 W% S) R1 [- m8 T  C , D+ q. ?+ D1 \8 J0 l6 E: X5 l
Of all the western stars,until I die.
3 ?( d& j) B2 I1 j/ j" M) Y# u+ N ( j/ y, b% Q2 `9 Q. ^# {$ k
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;
