本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲，演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的，不过我看了后觉得很受激励，就抄录下来以作自勉：

'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
7 e& U5 J$ e8 y3 N+ D
' N7 V( e" C; s$ V! oPush off, and sitting well in order smite

! _0 g% M; q7 L3 N  X# L5 s6 x" d, xThe sounding furrows; for my purpose holds

6 a, `; |* M$ e9 t0 J% eTo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths

) W/ `3 i3 C# e+ o  g( JOf all the western stars，until I die.

9 V. W6 O8 O: m6 z7 u! `It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

/ V" w/ [$ z( {  n( MIt may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
