[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:2 W; `0 ^6 M7 i, }& R5 S

- v/ k3 C( [6 M( l0 k! |'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
0 R1 i$ ]" o) I  ]! f
) f! b% M) I) C. k# ]2 m2 V& a, t# ~! MPush off, and sitting well in order smite
- i" @# \& Y9 O" p7 r* U
# ~/ ?# b7 U4 I. w4 _The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds2 f% k. _. j6 S! d8 K9 J
  W& ~) ]/ W) ?2 b2 Z7 s
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths

( U$ e- j' @3 u. }/ HOf all the western stars,until I die.( Y4 }1 Z5 l  y5 ?& J

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;$ R$ V1 h2 z1 j0 E- P6 e# @  ]

We are not now that strength which in old days

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
