Throughout the incident at Kinmen Island where 2 fishermen were killed by the relentless pursuit of the Taiwanese coast guards that rammed the fishermen’s speed boat and capsized it, the DPP tried really hard to lie about the fact that it was the coast guard’s fault in the first place.
Taiwanese authority did not provide any video and photo evidence, tried to politicise it in a way to create the illusion that Taiwan has actual sovereignty by making Fujian officials to sign on the repatriation papers of the surviving fishermen, which the officials outright rejected. Taiwanese authority also attempted to cremate the bodies of the dead fishermen, which luckily the family members rejected and demanded an autopsy to be conducted first.
And now, Fujian government is now pressuring and demanding Taiwan to provide ALL of the proof and evidences to back their own claim that their coast guards were in their rights and had not done anything overboard. For now, due to the testimonies of the surviving fishermen, DPP has no choice but to admit that their coast guards had bumped into the fishermen‘s speedboat multiple times before it capsized. This results in a final warning from Fujian officials and Fujian coast guards will now proactively and regularly enforce the security of Fujian fishermen.
This incident also sparked increasing outrage against Taiwan from mainland China because there are netizens from Taiwan cheering for the death of the fishermen. And upon knowing more and more truths coming out, they are literally calling for blood and are scolding CPC for allowing this to happen, and not without reason.
Ever since DPP took power, there were more than 9000 instances where mainland Chinese fishermen had their boats confiscated and fined a total of about 2.9 billion NTD (You can find these sources from some of the scholars and political commentators from CTI and other more neutral networks on YT).
Mainland Chinese coast guards had never once confiscated or chase Taiwanese fisherman away, and in fact had helped the Taiwanese fishermen in times of trouble, and also defended the Taiwanese fishermen to fish near Diaoyu Dao, which Japanese coast guards had also been confiscating and detaining and fining for decades, and Taiwanese government did not even help their own citizens to bail out of the situation, the Taiwanese fishermen had to deal with it themselves.
Taiwanese have exhausted the kindness mainland Chinese have for them and the DPP is leading Taiwan down a destructive path. We shall wait and see. |
