[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:9 [  R7 O" g1 ^8 y3 I

5 i3 V$ ?5 M' G. V'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
* r8 c" }+ w6 Z9 B2 G0 Y( ~ ; _" s6 c) B# W3 V
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
( n. o9 a8 q& e8 Q9 H, B
. @: D# \2 b9 W+ A: h% M2 m0 iThe sounding furrows; for my purpose holds& E' X  J, @) E& E" h  p

: P1 y, h  H! `. eTo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths) b. u& {* I! L/ h
6 q; o; m$ [) o$ H9 @' z
Of all the western stars,until I die.$ J( g6 S6 E- X0 _

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are
