[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:

1 S: u# U; h1 r; G, I* H! p'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
+ r! C7 b8 F7 j" L4 X/ P " {3 D  q+ E5 W- }, _% B& l9 P
Push off, and sitting well in order smite9 n4 S' b- x9 G1 o; E; \; h" x
7 q$ H/ `. o/ V/ T- o# k2 v8 r7 n
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
" N9 p* S  x8 x ) a) M! m! y; `- w9 V; U
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths

Of all the western stars,until I die.

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
