[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:: O+ ?3 q; [/ H7 \2 \, r

9 w! z; h0 w' T1 w3 D" F'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.+ C/ H% X6 l* r% H( i

Push off, and sitting well in order smite8 b7 h! N( P4 S2 e. W

The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds1 m# P! t8 A  j- f- R. X
4 z. L9 p3 {7 L; H6 y
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
& a7 F4 _- S, Q' ^- ] & G8 i/ q% W/ T3 n+ f( u) r
Of all the western stars,until I die.
& \3 |9 a( M$ Z 0 D2 n. i% K6 }7 k8 Y
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
