[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:

'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.% z6 b6 |$ T6 b% i" N
) G0 @4 V# G7 I. B" \) K
Push off, and sitting well in order smite; x" {9 f$ j. N. r0 O. y$ y
- y$ ^' Y" a- a! c# X4 a+ }, f) F
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
3 s$ A0 ^2 n! g
( E" M6 A! l$ l6 bTo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths

Of all the western stars,until I die./ a9 v- K, T1 ^. p4 s, R0 A! J

It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
