[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:: N# X+ T  R* F2 D' h* L& z0 x( L8 E

9 Y! I0 t* h1 m5 c+ u" W'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.: b. @2 ?+ A: ~3 X

: B# E5 v0 K3 |. r  PPush off, and sitting well in order smite  J  P' o9 I; Q6 W0 [. a

) F) n+ p' V0 v7 MThe sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
' Q+ P7 x" r' j& @: Q: ]! m. g+ d1 W
" a/ e$ o# o% Y" d) WTo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
/ W: s, a) V+ r0 X) U9 ] : d3 \6 g6 x( W
Of all the western stars,until I die.
& J! x' v3 b7 q, u1 }- U
2 i# u" ]# O* r+ P5 O/ tIt may be that the gulfs will wash us down;6 f$ B$ G/ ?6 b: D+ e

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

Though much is taken, much abides; and though

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will' @0 }4 a3 E+ z; T3 w
