The final approach to the summit.... the final few meters when the dream is about to become a reality. By this time the excitement of reaching the summit is taking over the majority of your mindscape. After a few more minutes the battle for the "mandatory return" v/s the "optional climb" will begin. The return is when most of the casualties happen on Everest, and every climber is acutely aware of the odds.
Sagarmatha was gentle to me, and destiny was benign. The weather was bad on the way back but manageable. Took me 13hours to reach the summit and 11 to return! Slow - yes, but non stop and safe. Yes the "traffic" did add some hours to my challenge, but overall- all good! :)
