Well the Brits actually waged war on China because the Chinese wanted to stop the importation of opium that was leading to widespread addiction and basically ruining the nation.  Most of the opium was being produced in India and shipped through Hong Kong, another British colony, into China. Strangely enough the Opium Wars were not in our history books when I was a boy in the UK. It was called the Boxer Rebellion and sold to us as a nasty short-sighted Chinese attempt to block "free trade". Naturally enough we were not told exactly WHAT what our country wanted to import into China.

谢谢。是的。 烧毁圆明园的时候，全大英帝国也只有萧伯纳一人对此进行批判，为此我认为他是当代英国最伟大的人道主义者（英语：Humanitarianism）， 没有之一。

西方基督教加上伊斯兰两个圈子里面就没有几个人理解中国人的善恶观念，更不要指望他们能以善的态度对待中国和中国人。不承认这个现实并勇敢面对应对的话前途堪忧

主要是不少人被灯塔国和西方的表面富贵迷花眼了，忘记其积累过程中的血腥，饱含自己先辈血汗的血腥——还不愿意直面自己认知有错的可能性。

一厢情愿以为模仿灯塔就行，然而世界已经不是几百年前的世界，也没有另外广袤富饶的土地去任意据为己有，不可能大规模对第三世界国家掠夺与倾销，在这种情况下模仿灯塔模式无疑自戕。
