Practice makes perfect. @alexhonnold taking another one of his practice laps w @tommycaldwell on El Capitan’s Freerider route. Tommy was true friend and training partner throughout Alex’s journey. Alex practiced the route repeatedly over 2 years to memorize every hold and every move in order to prepare for his eventual free solo. The stakes couldn’t be more clear - perfection or death. Most people take 3-5 days to climb the 3000ft long Freerider route. On June 3rd 2017, Alex free soloed Freerider in 3:56 minutes.
