Along the boardwalks and trails of Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, the calls of waterfowl drift out of the low morning fog. Located near the southern reaches of the Puget Sound in Washington, the refuge is an excellent place to enjoy a peaceful stroll, breathe the fresh air and watch bald eagles snatch salmon from the tidal waters. Looking much closer than its 50 miles distance, Mount Rainier hovers over the treeline. Quite a sight. Quite a place. Photo courtesy of Erwin Buske Photography.
