I love combining abstract forms and epic vistas. In this photo from Skagsanden in Lofoten, Norway I found this small pattern of mixed sand. When I say small, I mean it. I'm very close, just above the ground, with the lens cap almost touching the sand, and I had to focus stack it even at a small aperture. However, it was worth it! I love this shot with the patterns as the foreground and the iconic mountains in the background partly covered by clouds and one too being lit by the sunset.
